Players are selected for this league based on their career performance using their 15 best years. (The All-Time Peak league uses hitters' 10 best years.) The 300 hitters included in this league were selected based on their career ERP numbers. Starting pitchers and relievers use the same 10-year stats employed in the All-Time Peak league.

A few notes:

Very few pitchers whose careers occured mostly before 1900 are included; the dead-ball era pitchers' high IP and decisions coupled with low ERAs would have badly skewed the results. Exceptions are made for a few pitchers, most notably Christy Mathewson and Cy Young.

No caught-stealing records exist for a number of years. In the 10-year, All-Time Peak league, stolen bases are not counted for players in years their caught-stealing numbers are unknown. But in this league they are.

Players are ranked at the position at which they played during the majority of their career. A rare exception was made for a player like Harvey Kuenn, whose shortstop-outfielder differential was tilted slightly to the latter; but here he was designated a shortstop. Dick Allen played slightly more games at firstbase than third, but he is listed at third. Note that Killebrew, who qualified as a thirdbaseman in the Peak league, is a firstbaseman in this league. Career DHs are listed at the position they played when not DHing.

For now, all the relievers on the list have closer credentials. They are chosen from a pool of 116 players with 100 or more career saves. Only Firpo Marberry was excluded because of difficulty in separating his starter and reliever numbers. Middle relievers may be included at a future date. Because changes have been made over time in the way relievers are used and in how saves are determined, the list is dominated by players of the past couple decades. John Smoltz is the only player to qualify for the list of Relievers and Starting Pitchers.
